Application
Surfaces
Substrates/adhesion surfaces must be completely clean and free from loose particles, grease and oils, dirt and
any residual grout, etc.
Regulate the joint depth with a PVC foam backing rod or similar for standard joints, and with a butyl- or neoprene-based backing rod for joints that have to accommodate higher pressure loads.
The joint width must be between 6 and 12 mm, and the joint depth must be 6–10 mm. Generally speaking, the
joint depth should not be less than 6 mm.
For joint depths up to 10 mm, the ratio between depth and width should be 1:1.
How to use
Mix EpoxyFuge 1025 in full kits. Do not attempt to mix partial volumes. There is sufficient space in the binder
tub to mix in the hardener.
- Add the hardener (component B) to the binder (component A).
- Mix for 5–7 minutes using a spiral mixer attachment on a power drill running at low speed. While mixing,
use a suitable tool to scrape any unmixed grout from the sides of the tub. It is important to make sure that
all hardener (component B) and binder (component A) are mixed together into a homogeneous paste. - Place the metal plate with the filling hole in the middle (supplied) on top of the mixed grout.
- Then fill the empty grouting cartridges by placing the opening on top of the round hole in the metal plate
and pressing down evenly until the cartridge is full. - At +20°C, the grout is then usable/workable for around 45 minutes.
- Apply the grout with firm, even pressure from the grouting gun.
- To obtain a smooth, even surface on the finished joint, complete the finishing work within max. 1 hour from
applying the grout, using a wooden smoothing tool moistened with water mixed with a little washing-up
liquid. - Hardening time at +20°C: 48 hours.
- Residual grout on adjacent building parts can be removed during the first hours after grouting. Use a cloth
moistened with methylated spirits.
Hardened grout can only be removed by scraping.
NB!
Working with epoxy products requires special training according to the regulations of the Danish Working Environment Authority: WEA Guideline C.0.7.
High temperatures will reduce the hardening time, while low temperatures will extend it.
The hardening process will cease at temperatures lower than +15°C, but will recommence once the temperature
rises. It is a good idea to warm the product to room temperature before use.
Alfix EpoxyFuge 1025 cannot be used for grouting pools made of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP).
Cleaning
Use warm water mixed with ordinary washing-up liquid to clean grout residue from tools, etc. immediately
after use.
Hardened grout can only be removed by scraping.
Once used, the product is classified as hazardous waste.
Please make use of the municipal collection and disposal schemes.
